Special Notice Regarding Board of Education Meetings
SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING MAY 18, 2020 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING
Based upon notices and health advisories issued by Federal, State and Local officials and pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.1, dated March 12, 2020, which, among other things, suspended portions of the NYS Open Meetings Law, the Mt. Pleasant Cottage School Union Free School District Board of Education Meeting on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 7:00 pm will be held by the videoconferencing app ZOOM.
The Executive Session of the Board of Education will be initiated at the end of the regular meeting with the Board of Education adopting a motion to go into Executive Session, disconnecting the video conference call and then re-initiating a public video conference once the Executive Session has concluded.
Due to public health and safety concerns and pursuant to Executive Order 202.1, the public will not be permitted to attend this meeting in person or at the remote locations where the Board of Education members will be situated and public comment will not be permitted. Therefore, those provisions of Board Policy 1510 (Regular Board Meetings and Rules) regarding public meetings, videoconferencing and public expression at meetings are being suspended for this meeting and other meetings until further notice. The public, however, will be able to watch or listen to this meeting through ZOOM at the following link:
