What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative Justice is an approach to discipline that focuses on relationships as opposed to retribution. The foundation of being restorative is proactively building relationships and community. After an incident, restorative practices can be implemented to facilitate reflection, accountability as well as making amends. The district has committed to using a Restorative Practices approach in order to better address the needs of students to reflect, connect, and learn from behavioral missteps. We also offer it widely as an alternative to suspension.
